General Notes:
A small lady, but a powerful presence. She kept an immaculate house and was famous for her early starts, often rising at 4am. She worked as an apprentice milliner before her marriage. She suffered the death of twin sons, born prematurely in 1925 in Edinburgh. she suffered ill helath during her life and was confined to bed for long periods.
We often visited her house in Craiglockhart Dell Road in Edinburgh for Holidays. It backed onto the Dell and provided the ideal playground for young children. The house smelt of Lavender, her favourite scent, and everything was neatly wrapped in tissue paper.
They lived in the same house in Edinburgh until my G'Father retired. They then moved to Ashford to be closer to her Daughters, Norma and Sheila.
Sarah married Alexander William Maclean. (Alexander William Maclean was born on 24 Feb 1903 in Sorn, Ayrshire and died on 23 Sep 1989 in Hamstreet, Kent.)
