  General Notes:

Thomas was a fisherman out of Eyemouth. He was the skipper of the 'Pilgrim' afishing boat which had a miraculous escape in the Eyemouth Disaster of 1881. His elder borthers David, John and Alexander perished that day aboard the 'Radiant' Paul also his brother was on the Ariel Gazelle. Also quoted in the news was his Uncle John Burgon who also perished in the Disaster


Thomas married Sarah Anderson on 24 Jan 1868 in Eyemouth. (Sarah Anderson was born about 1849 in Ayton, Berwick.)
