7 Margaret Mooney, Letter and research on Mooney family compiled by Margaret Mooney, (Supplied to Martin Fairbairn, July 2004) Rec. Date: 28 Jul 2004, Letter No. 6, 21 June 1998. Cit. Date: 2 Sep 2004 See gravestone inscription quoted in reference to burial of Janet Watt Moonie (William's wife). Gravestone states William was 80 years old at date of death. However, if he was born on 20 July 1858 he was not quite 80 when he died. It is likely that that he was born on 20 July 1858 but that his exact date of birth was no known when he died.
